2024 20c Coloured Uncirculated Coin - Coin in Card

The Royal Australian Mint and the Children’s Book Council of Australia have been shining a light on the joy of reading with its Book Week Series since 2021. The fourth release in this series, Where is the Green Sheep? Written by Mem Fox, and illustrated by Judy Horacek, this coloured coin celebrates its 20th anniversaryin 2024.

The Book Week Series has previously celebrated Australian children’s books Animalia, Diary of a Wombat and Edward the Emu. The Royal Australian Mint has partnered with the Children’s Book Council of Australia on this program, recognising both the importance of reading in children’s development and the joy shared by readers young and old.

The program is designed to appeal to a broad age range with each book an Australianclassic. Parents and grandparents now reading the books to their children and grandchildren may have a sense of nostalgia, rememberingthe story from their childhood.

The colour printed coin will be available as a ‘coin in card’ and in the front cover of a special edition book. The gold plated colour coin will be packaged in a deluxe edition of the book.

$1 King Charles III Premium Rolled Coin

Tradition holds that Australian coins bear an effigy of the reigning Monarch on their obverse. Reflecting the recent succession of His Majesty King Charles III, Australia’s coins are undergoing a transformation not seen for seven decades and one that has not been experienced in the history of our decimal currency.

As an era comes to a close, the new effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Daniel Thorne will assume its place on the obverse for Australia’s legal tender coins. In keeping centuries-old tradition, as the successor, the effigy of His Majesty faces left, the opposite direction from his predecessor.

The 2023 $1 ‘Mob of Roos’ Circulating Coin was the first release to feature the new King Charles III effigy, which has made it an instant ‘must have’ for many coin collectors. These premium rolls ensure twenty high quality examples of these sort after coins in a format that is highly desirable by the numismatic community.
