The Coin Company is proud to present the 2026 HMAS Sydney - Korean War 1951 $2 Copper Coin by the Melbourne Coin Co.
On the 31st August 1951, the Royal Australian Navy Aircraft Carrier HMAS Sydney departed Australia on its way to Korea. In doing so, the navy vessel became the first and, thus far only, RAN Aircraft Carrier to see wartime service.
Celebrating the 75th anniversary of this moment, and featuring high relief and high detail, the Aussie Aircraft Carrier looks amazing on this 430gram behemoth of a coin. On one side, the navy ship cruises through the ocean, as various aircraft take to the skies all around. On the other side, the ship appears in profile, with important specifications and details listed beneath.
In direct conflict with the massive nature of this 76mm, 430 gram, 11.1mm thick copper coin, the mintage has been limited to a ridiculously tiny 300 pieces only.
