Add another timepiece to your collection! The Royal Canadian Mint’s second sundial coin features a reverse design that celebrates exploration and the beauty of time measured in light. Classic Roman numerals mark the hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. along the perimeter, anchored by an acanthus-leaf flourish, while decorative botanical motifs form an inner ring around a stylized globe. At the centre of it all, a compass rose sits beneath the angled rhodium-plated gnomon that casts a shadow across its coin base, indicating local solar time when placed in direct sunlight and pointed in the direction of true north.

• Replacing the sunflower theme from the first sundial coin, the reverse design invites you to embrace your spirit of exploration and discovery, represented by the globe and the rose of the winds.
