Much-loved Australian children’s book, Edward the Emu by Sheena Knowles and Rob Clement, is highlighted in the third release in the Royal Australian Mint’s and Children’s Book Council of Australia’s partnership, promoting reading to young audiences. The 2023 uncirculated coin featuring Edward, will be treasured by children and adults as they discover the story for the first time or reminisce about Edward’s adventures.
This year’s release includes a 20 -cent copper-nickel uncirculated coin in card or anniversary edition of the book and a gold-plated uncirculated version of the coin in a deluxe edition of the book. Edward the Emu was shortlisted in 1989 as the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Picture Book of the Year.
2023 20c CuNi coloured uncirculated coin – 35th anniversary of Edward the Emu - Coin in Card has a limited mintage of 30,000 worldwide.
