Published in 1926, A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh and later its sequel, The House at Pooh Corner (1928), have become timeless classics loved by generations around the world. These beloved children’s books tell the adventures of Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, which sometimes include visits from Christopher Robin, who was inspired by A.A. Milne’s son. The legacy of the stories about Pooh found new life through animations created by Disney, which saw the bear gain his iconic red shirt.                         

Now, The Royal Mint is proud to celebrate 100 years of Winnie the Pooh with a new three-coin collection featuring reverse designs created by The Walt Disney Company. The first coin celebrates the theme of kindness and features a design depicting the courageous bear. The second coin celebrates the theme of loyalty and its reverse features a design that depicts Christopher Robin hand in hand with Winnie the Pooh, his very loyal bear. The third and final coin in the collection celebrates friendship and the reverse of the coin features Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger. Each of these UK 50p coins is available in a range of alloys and finishes, including a silver Proof Colour and Brilliant Uncirculated Colour edition.
