Established in 1926 at Brooklands in Surrey, the British Grand Prix has taken place at Silverstone since 1948 and two years later, it became an annual event on the Formula 1™ World Championship calendar. Found in the heart of England, Silverstone has played host to some of the most exciting moments in British motorsport history, from Nigel Mansell’s dramatic win in 1987 to Lewis Hamilton’s three-wheeled finish in 2020.                      

With an undeniable legacy and a bright future ahead, the British Grand Prix is rightly regarded as a highlight of the Formula 1 World Championship schedule. As the British Grand Prix marks its 100th anniversary, we proudly celebrate this British institution with a UK coin in its honour. Featuring a design created by Interstate Creative Partners, the coin features a car from the 1926 Brooklands race and a 2026 Formula 1 car and is available as gold Proof, silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated editions.
