2027 $50 Fine Silver Coin - Heraldic Homage

The Coin Company is proud to present the 2027 $50 Fine Silver Coin - Heraldic Homage by the Royal Canadian Mint. 

Much like the Royal Canadian Mint's Heraldic Bear (2025) and Heraldic Lion (2026) coins, this 2027 piece combines the elegance of Canadian heraldry with maximum relief, boldly reimagining familiar heraldic elements and elevating them—literally and figuratively—into a more dimensional and dramatic form.                                  

The coin's reverse presents a high-relief reworking of the Arms of Canada, rendered in a modified manner to allow for a richer, more ornate composition. Certain elements of the original design have been omitted; others are artfully amplified and expanded. These guide the viewer's eye inward, reinforcing the sculptural nature of the work, as Ultra High Relief (UHR) and Extraordinarily High Relief (EHR) work together to create a striking ascent from edge to centre.                                                                                      

KEY FEATURES

• Ultra High Relief (UHR) lifts the heraldic elements beyond conventional engraving, while Extraordinarily High Relief (EHR) creates a more dramatic ascent that culminates in the centre—fittingly, near the maple leaf positioned on the helmet above the shield.
• This is an artistic interpretation rather than a faithful depiction of the Arms of Canada, with some original elements omitted and others enhanced for dramatic effect.
• Both sides feature an engraved woodgrain field pattern.
• Designed by renowned Canadian heraldic artist Cathy Bursey-Sabourin, who redrew the Arms of Canada in 1994 to include the motto annulus.
• Only 2,000 coins available worldwide—and previous coins sold out quickly.
