2026 Kiwi Coins - 2oz Silver Proof Coin
The Coin Company is proud to present the 2026 Kiwi Coins - 2oz Silver Proof Coin by the New Zealand Post.
This coin was designed by Māori artist Shane Hansen. Shane designed NZ Post’s Matariki 2024 stamp issue, and delivers a unique perspective through his work. Shane’s coin design depicts a North Island brown kiwi calling in the night with marama (the moon) above. In a nod to the bird’s ongoing recovery, Shane was inspired by the sounds of kiwi near his home, and his children’s participation in recovery programmes in Tūtūkākā. This coin has a black proof finish with elegant gold plating applied to the obverse and reverse.
This annual coin issue celebrates Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique kiwi bird.
