Its clusters of vivid rubies and diamonds, culminating in a dramatic three-pendant centrepiece, were worn to many banquets and formal occasions—and one particularly striking moment came in 1977, when she opened Canada’s Parliament in Ottawa, where flashes of ruby mirrored the nation’s red in a historic moment of elegance.     

Celebrate the timeless legacy of Queen Elizabeth II on the centenary of her birth with this jewellery-themed 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin, the third in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Crown Jewels series. Adorned with 20 red crystals and 27 white crystals, all set in sterling silver jewellery mountings, the coin’s reverse reimagines the Baring Ruby Necklace as distinct elements—the neckline and the pendant centrepiece—arranged to complement the coin’s circular shape while honouring the harmony (and sparkle) of the original design.
