On 8 September 2022, His Majesty King Charles III acceded to the throne following the sad passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. Prior to his succession, His Majesty The King was the longest-serving heir apparent in British history and supported several important causes during his time as Prince of Wales. The Royal Mint is proud to present a new rendering of the Coat of Arms of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by renowned heraldic artist Timothy Noad.

The monarch’s Royal Arms are used across official government documentation, including UK passports, and remain a symbol of the nation. This is the first time that King Charles III’s Royal Arms will appear on a UK coin from The Royal Mint, which highlights the design’s intricate details.

The coin is available in a range of editions, including gold Proof, silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated editions. The range also features a colour-printed edition of the coin that showcases Timothy Noad’s beautiful work.
