With more than 17,500 species of butterflies spread across the globe, these captivating creatures can be found on every continent except Antarctica. From the lush rainforests of the Amazon to the vibrant meadows of Europe and the diverse habitats across Asia, butterflies thrive in a variety of environments. These beautiful creatures play an important role in the ecosystem as pollinators, taking care of herbs and vegetables such as artichokes, basil, beans and cabbage, as well as pollinating flowering plants such as milkweed, asters, coneflowers, butterfly bushes, lavender and sunflowers. Each butterfly species showcases unique patterns and magnificent colours, embodying the essence of transformation and beauty that cultures worldwide have long admired.

As well as a ribbon scroll with the inscription ‘BUTTERFLY’, the reverse includes the coin’s weight, purity, 2025 year-date, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse portrays the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the coin’s monetary denomination.
This magnificent coin is housed in a beautiful display case. Packaged within an elegant box, each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Technical Information
This coin has been struck on an extra-deep blank to showcase its superbly detailed design in high relief. It has also been individually ‘antiqued’ to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin in the mintage may vary.
