The Royal Australian Mint's 2026 Koala Series celebrates one of Australia's most loved and recognisable species worldwide. The third release in the series and for the second time will include the 50c Uncirculated Coin, which will be sold predominately in Australia. The Royal Australian Mint's 2026 Koala Series, comprising of four coin products, follows the success of the 2025 Koala Series. The $1 Fine Silver Investment Coin is accompanied by a $100 Gold Investment Coin, $5 Fine Silver High Relief Coin, and a 50c Uncirculated Coin featuring the same koala design.

Koalas are known for their gentle nature and tree dwelling lifestyle. They spend most of their lives in eucalyptus trees, feeding on leaves and sleeping in the branches. This coin is the third release in the Royal Australian Mint's Koala Series. The coin's reverse features three koalas nestled among eucalyptus branches, with eucalyptus leaves forming a pattern in the background, and giving a sense of the tree canopy.
