Each public performance is a colourful sight to behold, as the troop of up to 32 riders, all regular members of Canada’s national police force, complete a series of carefully coordinated cavalry drills and choreographed manoeuvres set to music.

Recognized at home and abroad, the RCMP Musical Ride is a cherished Canadian tradition. This selectively coloured fine silver coin from the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates that tradition through its depiction of the Officer in Charge leading the salute, and pays tribute to the riders and horses who proudly represent not only the RCMP, but all Canadians across the country.
