The Coin Company is proud to present the 2024 $50 Fine Silver Coin Allegory of Freedom by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The National War Memorial in Ottawa serves as a striking expression of the hope and heroism exhibited by generations of Canadians who fought, and continue to fight, for the freedoms we hold so dear. Its representation of Freedom inspired this 2024 allegory, which serves as the Royal Canadian Mint’s latest R&D showcase of innovation.
The follow-up to 2023’s Allegory of Peace, this coin with a double-sided 3D figure is now entirely cast in 99.99% pure silver—a higher purity level than the 2023 edition, whose allegory was cast in .999 fine silver. Visible on the coin’s obverse and reverse, the inspirational 3D figure is plated with gold to radiate hope and optimism, as Freedom holds up the torch that lights the way forward.
Coin Highlights:
- Inspired by the allegorical figure atop the National War Memorial in Ottawa, this coin honours those who have served our country, and those who continue to help advance freedom and peace around the world.
- The obverse is a continuation of the reverse design, thereby
providing a 360-degree view of Freedom. - Most silver castings are sterling (92.5% pure) silver but this goldplated allegory cast has been upgraded to 99.99% pure silver—a higher purity level than the 2023 allegory cast, which was produced in .999 fine silver.
- Careful hand polishing produced a high shine that emphasizes the finest details.
2024 $50 Fine Silver Coin Allegory of Freedom has a limited mintage of 1,400 coins.
